Deep Tissue Massage (DTM)

Deep Tissue Massage is a massage therapy that relies on realigning deeper layers of muscle to alleviate chronic pain and to increase mobility in stiff joints.

With chronic muscle tension or injury, there may be adhesions (bands of painful, rigid tissue) in muscles, tendons, and ligaments, which can disrupt circulation and cause pain, limited movement, and inflammation.

Deep tissue massage works by physically breaking down these adhesions to relieve pain and restore normal movement. To do this, the massage therapist will often use a massage oil and apply direct, deep pressure. Muscles need to be relaxed in order for the therapist to reach the deeper musculature and start the manipulation process that will bring the most benefit to you.
