Frozen shoulder

Adhesive Capsulitis, more commonly known as Frozen Shoulder, is a condition where the flexible tissue that surrounds the shoulder joint, known as the capsule, becomes inflamed and thickened. It’s not fully understood why this happens, although there is an increased risk of it developing if you’ve had a previous shoulder ailment.

Frozen Shoulder often develops over months or years, starting with aching shoulders leading to sharp pain when reaching for things. Then the shoulder begins to stiffen, making it increasingly difficult to move, which (particularly if you do not even attempt to move it) can lead to muscle degeneration.
